PROGRAMS
For 46 years, the Fort Worth Youth Orchestra has been providing young musicians unparalleled musical instruction, unique performing opportunities, and a chance to study and experience classical music with their peers in a chamber or full orchestra setting.
Whether striving to be a professional musician or just fostering a lifelong love of music, our program can help your student realize and advance his or her vision.
YOUTH ORCHESTRA
The Youth Orchestra is the premiere ensemble in the program, and is dedicated to performing the finest works in the full symphonic repertoire. Dr. German Gutierrez, Conductor
PHILHARMONIC
The Philharmonic is the preparatory orchestra for membership in the Youth Orchestra. Andres Franco, Conductor
STRING ORCHESTRA
The String Orchestra is for string students who have had some orchestral experience, and who have intermediate skills. Samuel Branch, Conductor
JUNIOR STRING ORCHESTRA
The Junior String Orchestra is for students who have had little or no previous mixed ensemble experience. Amanda Musser, Conductor
SUZUKI AND PREPARATORY STRINGS PROGRAM
The Suzuki and Preparatory Strings Program offers weekly lessons from a talented and dedicated staff of teachers. We are accepting beginning students ages 3 and up, or those with previous study on an instrument. Either Suzuki method or Traditional method lessons are available. CHAMBER MUSIC PROGRAM
Membership is open to advanced YOGFW students who desire to learn to rehearse and play in a chamber music setting. The chamber groups will meet every week one hour prior to their weekly rehearsal time at Orchestra Hall and receive two coaching sessions a month.
